As Senior Manager of Labor Relations for the NFL Management Council, Michael Leach employs a unique background in professional sports with work experience at both the team and league level. Leach currently works in the NFL’s Management Council which serves as the multi-bargaining unit arm of the NFL that negotiates, administers, and enforces all components of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) on behalf of its member Clubs. Leach is responsible for ensuring uniform compliance for certain aspects of the CBA across all 32 clubs which includes player contracts, salary cap accounting, player work rules, the NFL deferred compensation trust fund, and administration of the NFL Electronic Medical Records system. Leach is also responsible for managing the NFL’s Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship program, which provides NFL coaching experience and exposes talented minority college coaches, high school coaches and former players to the methods and philosophies of NFL coaching staffs.
Leach came to the NFL Management Council from the Chicago Bears, where he served as the Assistant to Head Coach for three seasons. Prior to that, he worked as both a Media Relations Assistant and Football Operations Assistant for the Miami Dolphins.
Leach currently serves on the NFL Diversity Council as Co-Chair of the Council’s Recruitment & Partnerships Committee, and was recently appointed Co-Chair of the NFL’s Black Engagement Network.
Globally, Michael serves as New York City’s Committee Member Lead for Glappitnova—a cultural platform of in-person and digital experiences that spans a diverse audience of millennial influencers, community leaders, changemakers, and corporate level professionals and partners.
Leach serves on a leadership team that helped launch Trinity Church Harlem in New York City, one of three new campus church plants of Trinity Church (Miami) where he serves regularly and preaches on occasion.
In addition to contributing to the business of football, Leach is deeply invested in the community and is passionate about impacting, empowering, and inspiring the lives of people through several platforms as an award-winning speaker, life-coach, and personality/host.
